Kuwait to host 18th meeting of GCC environment ministers

KUWAIT: Kuwait will host the 18th meeting of ministers in charge of environment affairs in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states on December 25 to coordinate stances and review the latest developments in the domain.
Kuwait News Agency, KUNA, quoted Kuwaiti Minister of Oil and Minister of State for National Assembly Affairs, Ali Al-Omair, as saying, “The meeting will serve as a platform for consultations and exchange of views about progress in the efforts exerted to preserve the environment and find suitable solutions to environment problems.”
“The meeting reflects the GCC governments’ eagerness to achieve the interests of their people through creating a healthy environment,” Al-Omair said.
Al-Omair applauded the role played by the GCC General Secretariat in coordinating and following up the implementation of the resolutions taken in previous meetings.
