Elderly woman died in road mishap in Pangala
Udupi: An elderly woman was brutally killed on the road as a Toofan jeep rammed over her in Moodabettu near Katapady on Monday at around 10am. The deceased lady has been identified as  Mutthu (65), resident of Moodabettu.

While the elderly lady was crossing the road a Toofan jeep speeding from Mangaluru to Udupi knocked her down. The woman was thrown on the road and died on the spot.

The jeep driver stopped the vehicle a yards away from the spot and fled away without caring for lady’s life. A case has been filed in Kaup police station. Police arrived at the spot and the body has been sent for post mortem. The police have seized the vehicle responsible for the incident.

Locals blame jeep driver for rash and negligence driving.
