Wooden block instead of Smart phone: Yet another blunder by Flipkart

Udupi: In yet another case of online fraud a person from Udyavar received wooden blocks instead of smart phone he had ordered.

Pavan, from Udyavar near here, had ordered a smart phone worth Rs 5,000 from Flipkart. On Saturday, he received a courier parcel at his door. After paying the bill amount when Pavan opened the parcel he was shocked to see a wooden block with same dimension as of the smart phone inside the box.

Irked by the parcel he received Pavan tried to lodge a complaint with police. But as the courier office came to know about this they persuaded him not to do so and assured him of returning the amount.

The irony is, Pavan was working for the same office earlier. A few months ago, when a resident of Malpe received a stone instead of a camera by courier, he had to give up his job.

This is not the first time that the items ordered through online have been replaced with either stones or wooden blocks. Flipkart is one of the front runners in online shopping. But these kind of incidents dent the image of the company and public opines that the shopping firm should hold an enquiry in to the matter.

It is suspected that a ring may be operating in collaboration with some employees of the courier firm.
