Kundapur: Sunil (19), a resident of Yojana Nagar in Byndur, the accused in the murder case of Akshata Devadiga is said to be an ITI student.
It is said that Sunil had asked Akshata to accompany him on the fateful day. But as Akshata didn’t pay heed to his requests Sunil dragged her into the plantation and tried to rape her. Then he strangulated her with the chudidar shawl and killed her it is gathered in the preliminary investigation.
The dead body of Akshata Devadiga was found in a plantation in Henaberu in Ottinene on Wednesday June 17.

Kundapur: The accused in the rape and murder case of Akshata Devadiga (17) has been arrested by police.
The arrested person has been identified as Sunil. More details will emerge only after the interrogation of the accused police sources said.
On Wednesday June 17 the deadbody of Akshata Devadiga was found in Henaberu near Ottinene. A huge protest was held to arrest the murderer of Akshata. Police had sought three days time to nab the culprit.
