Samudra Pooje done by fishermen in Kundapur

Gangolli: The fishermen performed a mass sea worship (Samudra Pooje) on Thurday July 2 at Shri Varahi swamy temple organised by Kundapur taluk traditional boat fishermen.

President of Gangolli zone indigenous boat fishermen association, K. Manju Billava and president of indigenous boat fishermen association Byndur zone, B. Kumar led the holy program at Shri Gangadhareshwar temple in Maravante, Arama temple (Bobbarya and Varaha), Shri Vishnu and Shri Narasimha temple and Kshetra Pala temple.

Chowki Vittoba Kharvi, Secretary, Gangolli indigenous boat fishermen association, former secretary B. Suresh Bangera Kodi, Secretary Nagapayya Patel, Vice president of Byndur indigenous boat fishermen association B. Mahesh Kharvi, K.M Somashekar, secretary Shekar Kharvi and many others were present.

Gangolli: Protest against power cut and delay in operation of substation

Gangolli: The furious public over delay in operation of MESCOM substation (that has been completed two years ago) and indefinite power cut in Gongolli have staged a protest in front of MESCOM office in Gangolli on Thursday.

Nagarika Horata Samiti in association with various other organizations demonstrated a protest and marched from Post office to MESCOM office.

The substation that has been made two years ago is still not operating. The equipments are rusted and since several days indefinite power cut has made the life horrible here. Line men do not respond to complaints after dark.

The protestors demanded for all day long operation of Substation within a month. They also handed over the plea to MESCOM engineer Yashwanth. And warned that huge protest will be demonstrated if the problem is not fixed soon.

Yoga training program in Gangolli

Gangolli: Yoga training and information program was held in Gangolli SV higher primary school on the eve of world Yoga day on Sunday June 22 in association with Shri Gurujyothi Sports club, Gangolli, SV higher primary school Gangolli and Yogabandhu Kundapur.

The program was inaugurated by the president of Kairali Suhrad vedike K.P Shrishan. The general secretary of All India Konkani Kharvi Mahasabha Umanath Gangolli presided over the program. Sanjeev of Yogabandhu gave information about Yoga.

Writer Suresh Naik M was facilitated on this occasion. Social worker G. Ganapathy Shishya, head mistress of the school Sumana M. Padiyar, secretary Satish M. Kharvi were present.

President of the club G. Raghavendra Kharvi welcomed. Founder member G. Suryakanth Kharvi anchored the program.

Wholesale shop catches fire in Gangolli

Kundapur: A wholesale shop in APMC yard caught fire on the wee hours of Tuesday May 26.

The shop located in APMC yard in city market premise was owned by Venkatesh from Gangolli. All the items including furniture have charred in the incident.
Two security guards are appointed in the market region at night On Tuesday early morning they noticed smoke coming out from the shop and informed to the other people. The public tried to douse the fire but as oil and other flammable items were present inside the shop their efforts went in vain.

Venkatesh owns another shop in Gangolli which was set ablaze by some miscreants few months back. Police are investigating the case to find if any foul play involved in the fire incident.

Kundapur DySP Manjunath Shetty, Circle inspector Divakar, sub inspector Nasir Hussain visited the spot.

Samoohika Shri Satyanarayana Puja at Gangolli

Gangolli: Samoohika Shri Satyanarayana Puja was organised at Malyaramutt Shri Venkatramana temple as a part of conclusion ceremony of decennial celebration of Ninada organisation.

The religious rituals and programs were held in the presence of Shrimad Vidyadhiraja Teertha Shripada Vadera Swamiji of Shri Samsthana Gokarna Parthagali Jeevotham mutt and Shrimad Shivanand Saraswathi Teertha Swamiji of Shri Kaivalya mutt.

Temple trustee Bailur Manjunath Shenoy, main priest Vedamurthy S. Venkatramana Acharya, Vedamurthy G. Vasath Bhat, G. Venkatesh Nayak, president of Ninad organisation M. Mukunda Pai, all the office brarers of Ninad and locals were present.

Renowned singers get together at Gangolli on May 19

Gangolli: On the decennial celebrations of Ninada,  ekaha bhajan  program has been organized at Malya Matt Temple. Famous artists from others states will participate in the program.

May 19: 8  o clock:Devaray Kini Mumbai, 10 : Mahalakshmi Shenoy Karkala, 12: Balachandra Prabhu Mumbai, 2: Ananya Bhagat Bengaluru, 4: Rajesh Padiyar Mysore, 6: Kiran Kamat Mumbai, 8: Upendra Kamat Mumbai, 10: Satyacharn Mumbai. At 12 midnight: Veena nayak Kota.

May 20: Morning 2: Ashis Nayak, 4: Raghunandan Bhat, 6: Shankar Shanubhag will sing bhajans. They will accompanied by native artists.

12 artists from other states will perform in the ekaha bhajan program.

Gurumaruthi Sports Club annual function and Samoohika Satyanarayan Pooja at Gangolli

Gangolli: Trusts and associations must work for the society always and encourage religious functions. In programs that develop religious fervor and upliftment of the village, trust and organizations must be first in place said Hattiyangadi Shri Vinayaka Temple Dharmadharshi Vedamurti H.Ramchandra bhat.

He was speaking at the annual function of Gurumaruthi sports club and Samuhika Satyanarayan pooja of 108 kalash.

Fishermen association president of Gangolli H.Manju Billava, fisherman co-op society president K.Naga Kharvi, director Mohan Kharvi, businessman Mohan Kharvi and others were present.

On the same occasion, State level body builder Somashekhar Kharvi was felicitated.
