Kateel: school celebrating centenary year, new office inaugurated on this occasion

Kateel: On the auspicious occasion of centenary year celebration of Kateel Shri Durgaparameshwari higher primary school, a centenary office was inaugurated in the temple building.

Moktesar -Vasudev Asranna, committee president -Ananta Asranna, secretary- Eshwar Kateel, priest-Prasad Asranna, Umesh Rao Ekkar, Malati, Gopal, Bhuvanabhiram Udupa, Y Ratnakar Shetty and others were present.

The office is opened with a intention to give information about the school for education seekers, old students, about centenary celebrations and to collect funds. The celebrations will take place from 1-3 January 2016, next year.

Bus topples into gorge in Kateel: Several injured

Kinnigoli: A bus plunged into a gorge after driver lost control over the bus in Ballana near Kateel here in the morning of Thursday July 9.
 
  
 
The bus which was moving from B.C Road to Kinnigoli toppled into a gorge while negotiating a turn in Ballana. Due to heavy rain the soil was loosened and slided when the bus moved in this region causing the accident, locals said.

There were 15-20 passengers in the bus of whom 12 persons sustained injuries. Three people were seriously injured and were admitted a private hospital in Mukka. The others were admitted to Kinnigoli hospital.  

The injured have been identified as Yogitha Ganjimutt, Shreesha Kumar Ekkar, Pratap Mallur, Yashwant Mallur, Shivaprasad Kavoor, Prashant Naik Kateel, Venkatesh Mallur, Harinakshi Sunkadakatte, Anjali Bajpe, Radhika Geetha Balachandra.

Three months ago several people injured when two buses collided head on on the same spot. Locals have many times urged the authority to broaden the road here and avoid life loss.

Plastic saudha built in Kondela

Kateelu: As a part of Swaccha Bharat Abhiyan, the youth of Kondela built plastic saudha and handed it over to Kondemula Panchayat.

Felicitation program of Nalin Kumar Kateel in Kinnigoli

Kinnigoli: For his tremendous effort to develop the constituency by using highest amount from his MP fund and for achieving first place in public poll as the best MP, Nalin Kumar Kateel will be felicitated by Moodbidri Nagarika Samiti.

The felicitation program will be witnessed by dignitaries,tomorrow at 4.30 p.m in Rajangana in Kinnigoli briefed Sandesh Shetty of Agraja trust to the press.

Dignitaries like Harikrishna Punaroor, Kateel priest Laxminarayan Asranna, Kinnigoli Church priest F. Vincent F Montero, Shantinagar Jumma Masidi priest P.J.Ahmad will participate in the program. MLA’s of Mulki and Moodbidri constituency will also be seen in the program.

At 3.30 p.m the pooja rituals will be offered to Kateel Durgaparameshwari and later Nalin Kumar will be taken to Rajangana in a procession said Sandesh Shetty.

Leopard found tangled in the trap near Kateel

Surathkal: A leopard was found tangled in a trap in Kallakumer near Kateel on Sunday June 7.

Locals informed the matter to the forest department officials who came to the spot and captured the wild animal by injecting tranquilizer. The leopard was then shifted to Pilikula Bialogical park located in Mangaluru.

The leopard was showing its face since many days in the region. Locals said that the stray dogs went disappearing since the wild beast started wandering in the region. A couple of days ago a dogs half eaten body was found in the locality.

Locals had since urged forest officials to catch the leopard as it was posing danger to the life of the local residents.

Kateelu Yakshagana Mela concluded

Kinnigoli: All the six mela’s of Kateel Shri Durgaparmeshwari Dashavatara Yakshagana for this year concluded. The six mela’s were played simultaneously in the temple premises. All in all 1164 shows are given in 194 days this year.

564 shows of Devimahatme has commenced this year. The shows are booked for 15 years and every day a new show is booked. 250 artists are serving in the Kshetra and also given shows across the country and abroad. The mela’s will start again in November.

Yakshagana artists felicitated in Kateel

Kateel: On the note of Dharmastala Yakshagana Mela commenced in Kateel, the Gopal Krishna Asranna Samsmaran committee Mumbai UAE has hosted a felicitation function for the artists.

Mahesha Maniyani, Kedila Jayaram Bhat were the artists who were felicitated by the committee.

Laxminarayan Assranna, Shri hari Asranna, Padmanabh Kateel, Smt. Harinakshi, Sathish Rao,Shridhar Bhandari and Naveen Shetty were present.

48 couples tie knot together in Kateel on Akshaya Tritiya

Kateel: On the auspicious day of Akshaya Tritiya 48 couples got married in a simple way in Kateel Durgaparmeshwari Temple.

Compared to last year the number has decreased this year. Last year 75 couple were married on this day. It is believed that the couple who marry on this day will live a happy life in future.
