Moodbidri: MCC bank meet commenced

Moodbidri: The mahasabha of MCC bank commenced at Kalpavruksha hall in Moodbidri. Ex MLA K. Amaranath Shetty presided over the meeting.

Later he spoke and said that the bank has gained 6.12 crore profit last year. Sine past 15 years share holders are given 25% dividend.

On behalf of  year centenary celebration, members were given 100 rupees 2 shares as bonus. The bank is working on ’ A’ grade for the past 13 years now. Member’s numbers have increased from 5826 to 7222.

The deposit is increased prom 62 crores to 178 crore rupees. 95% loans are recovered and there is no loan that has been not recovered. He said.

Members discussed about the matters like ATM, membership amount, staff recruitment etc.

Vice president George Monis, director Ganesh Nayak, Dr.M Panduranga Malya, Premanada Prabhu, Prema, S.Salian, CEO Chandrashekar and others were present.

People demand to keep Hosabettu out of Mega Project

Moodbidri: Under the Urban development Project Hosabettu of Moodbidri has been chosen for Mega Project. Some of the survey numbers are included in the project. The villagers of Hosabettu GP, protested and handed over a plea to MUDA president to keep the village out of the project.

First the request was made to Gram Panchayat staff and later the plea was handed over to Suresh Kotian president of MUDA in Purasabha office.

Hosabetty ex member of GP Wilfred Mendonsa spoke to the press and said that conspiracy is going on to include the backward village Hosabettu in Mooda Mega Project. In 2012 people had a doubt on this and in 2013 a request was made against this inclusion.

But again now the village is included in the project without people’s consent. If the village is included without the villagers notice, huge protest will be staged he warned.

President Suresh Kotian assured that he will speak with Urban Development Minister Vinaya Kumar Sorake. And will see to it that the project will be implemented without Kallabettu, Karinje and Marror gram.

Leopard falls into well near Moodbidri: rescued by Forest Officers

Moodbidri: A Leopard in Kempugudde of Moodmarnad in Moodbidri had accidentally fallen into the well and was successfully rescued by the forest officers.

The Leopard had fallen into the open well belonged to Raghu Poojari on Monday morning. This male Leopard is 4 years old.
Moodbidri Regional FO Dinesh G D led team with Prashanth Sub regional FO and with public help used a huge wooden log as a ladder and the Leopard with the help of the log has managed to come out of the well and ran towards the forest.

At 3 am in the morning the members of the house heard a big noise and upon inspecting they saw a Leopard inside the well. Without delay they informed the forest officers and GP president Shrinath Suvarna.

Immediate action by Forest officers:

As soon as they got the information that a Leopard has fallen into the well the officers have taken immediate action and rescued the Leopard said GP president Shrinath Marnadu.

Shirtadi FO Jayaprakash, Bajagoli FO Pramod, Beluvai officer Nagaraj, sudhakar, Narayan and others were in the rescue team.

Power cut problem in Moodbidri

Moodbidri: Rain or no rain the people of Moodbidri both town and rural are facing power cut problem every day. The electric poles are in a state where they can fall any moment.

Kotebagilu, Pucchemogaru, Alangar, Marur and other areas face electricity problem daily. The pole that connects Kotebagilu and Maulana Azad road is in state where it could fall on ground any moment. The wires are lying down posing danger to the pedestrians.

None of the officers or representatives is giving attention to the problem accused public.

The transformer in Pacchemogaru is in its last stage and wires are already cut. Public has given complaint to MESCOM but no response from the department is seen. If anything happenes to public then department will be made responsible said B.Rajaram Adyantahaya.

Two persons commit suicide in two separate incidents

Moodabidre: Two persons ended their lives in two different incidents in Moodabidre police limits on Thursday April 16.

In one incident Vasanth (25) a resident of Makki in Shirthady village hanged himself in a rubber plantation near his house.

In another incident an elderly man named Dayanand (50) hanged himself at his house. Both were said to be coolie workers.

CC camera surveillance in Moodabidre to curb crime

Moodabidre: Moodabidre , a religious centre of the district is on its way to become a educational hub. To prevent any unwanted obstacles on its way of achievements and make Moodabidre a crime free city the administration is installing CC cameras in urban and rural areas.

The police department has been pressing for installation of CC cameras in some sensitive areas since one year. The business men and the shop keepers also supported the police on this issue.  They are installing the CC cameras in the extended corridor of their shops and in public places.

More than 40 cameras:

Not only big shops but small shop keepers also installed cameras in their shops. Canara bus owner’s association has installed an ultra modern CC camera worth Rs. 80,000 in Moodabidre bus stand.  After the appeal from the police the number of CC cameras has increased drastically. Till now more than 40 CC cameras has been installed in public places.

 

To create awareness among the people Moodabidre police inspector Ananth Padmanabh had held discussion with the member of various organizations and shop owners. He explained the necessity of CC cameras in shops and in public places. After this discussion  most of the shop owners have installed CC cameras in their shops and some have even extended their work by installing CC’s in public areas.

To make Moodabidre garbage and crime free Moodabidre Nagarasabha has installed CC cameras in various places in the city. As a result of massive awareness programs Moodabidre is becoming the first city to have CC camera surveillance all over the city.

‘Splash’ at M.V.Shetty college from 19th March

Moodbidri:  A cultural and technical program ‘Splash-2015’ will be held at Dr.M.V.Shetty Engineering College from March 19th.

The program will be inaugurated at 9 a.m by, Principal of Gajendragadh Government School S.T.Bhairappa and chief guest will be J.J.Pinto from S.N. Polytechnic.

The two days program will include song, dance, robo war, rangoli, quiz, mehandi, collage, cooking fashion show and various other competitions. Project exhibition from diploma students and bike stunts are also arranged.

In valedictory program on March 20th, at 5 p.m, prize distribution and talents day will be held.

Moodbidri Court upgraded

Moodbidri: A feather in cap that Moodbidri got its own court complex on Feb 10, almost after a decade. Now the people of Moodbidri have one more reason to cherish that the court will soon be upgraded as Civil Court. And from March 14th court will be available for the public.

In Upper Civil Court one can suit a case more than 5 lacks. In the past only Mangaluru district court and Karkal Upper Civil Court had this provision but now Moodbidri will have this provision too.

Time and Money would be saved in and around Moodbidri Hobli. The court hasm been upgraded within a month of its opening, people are lucky said President of Lawyer’s association K.R.Pandit
