Dr. Babu Shetty will be remembered for his philanthropical work: Ranganath Shetty

Mulky: The works of late Dr. K.Babu for the development of rural poor people as a doctor, leader of co operative, social worker is a leading light to the younger generation said, Ranganath Shetty, president of Mulky Vijaya farmers service co operative bank.

He was speaking in the program organised to hand over the amount to provide equipments for the students of government high school in K.S Rao nagar in Mulky by children of late Dr. K. Babu Shetty.
Dr. Babu Shetty will always be remembered by the people and to commemorate his death anniversary a permanant scheme will launched soon he said.

Dr. Shivprasad Shetty and Dr. Hariprasad Shetty handed over the cheque to school head master.

School development committee president Bheema Shankar, M.D of Vijaya farmers service co operative bank Deranna Rai, vice president Prasad Shetty, Mulky town municipal members B.M Asif, Vimala Poojary, Shailesh, philanthropist Navin Puthran were present.

'Aatida Gouji' celebrated at Mulky

Mulky: The role of women in the development of the society is very important. When women work unitedly major changes can be brought in the society said, Seema Shekar Karkal, retired bank employee.

She was speaking after inaugurating the first annual 'Aatida Gouji' program jointly organised by Mulky Devadiga samaja seva sangha, women organisation and youth organisation at Mulky Devadiga Sangha.

The program was presided over by B. Sanjeeva Devadiga, president of Devadiga Sangha. Haleangady gram panchayat member Jeevan Prakash and Kinnigoli gram panchayat member Raveendra Devadiga Punaroor were felicitated on this occasion.

Geetha Prakash Manchakal was present as chief guest and honarary presidents of the association Doddanna Moily Bappanadu, Muddana Devadiga Chitrapu, executive secretary Anand Moily Odeyarabettu, treasurer Dinesh Devadiga Bappanadu, president of Yuva sanghatane Jayanand Devadiga were present.

26 types of traditional foods were served on this occasion. Various cultural and entertainment programs were held.

Dowry harassment: woman files complaint against husband, mother in law

Mulky: A dowry harassment case has been filed gainst a person from Karnire here in Mulky police station.

Naushiya, a resident of Karnire has stated in her complaint that her husband Nisar Abdul Khader and her mother in law Aleemamma is harassing her for dowry.

It is stated in the complaint that Rs. 4 lakh cash and 30 soveriegn of gold was given to Khader during marriage in June, 2012. But after marriage Khader and his mother started harassing Naushiya, physically and mentally.

Police have registered a case and investigating the matter.

Karimani chain snatched after spraying powder on the face of a lady in Mulky

Mulky: A woman was robbed of gold karimani chain by the miscreants who came to her house as washing powder sellers.

The victim lady Prafulla (32) was tying beedi at her house in Punarur in Talipady village here on Monday June 29.

Two persons approached her saying that they sell bronze metal cleaning powders and started cleaning the oil lamp that was kept in the courtyard of the house in Tulasi Katte.

As Prafulla was watching the men washing the lamp they suddenly sprayed the powder on her face and snatched her gold karimani chain weighing 28gms and fled away. The cost of the chain is said to be around Rs. 56,000.

A case has been filed in Mulky police station.

Three mobiles, cash worth Rs. 34,000 robbed from a house in Mulky

Mulky: The thieves entered a house near Kallapu railway gate under Padupanambur village municipality and decamped with three mobile sets and Rs. 34,000 cash.

The robbers entered the house by cutting the wooden rods of the kitchen window. The house was belonged to Dhruva Kumar. His wife had kept the money belonged to the local Swa sahaya sangha in her purse which has been taken away by the robbers.

On Tuesday relatives of Dhruva Kumar had arrived to his house. The robbers didn’t even spare their mobiles also. The sim cards of the mobiles were found in the courtyard of the house.

Mulky Police have suspected that the people familiar with the house might have committed the crime.

Send off ceremony of Mulky station police staff

Mulky: Honesty in work and dedication in service is the only way of getting recognition in the society said Panambur ACP Ravi Kumar.
  
He was speaking in the send off ceremony of 13 police staff who got transferred. Ravi Kumar presided over the program.

Police staff Ravalenrda, Kanthappa, Ramanna Shetty, Dharmappa, Dejappa, Vijaya Kanchan, Krishnappa, Madhav, Sharif, Lohit, Shekappa, Prashant and Jayaram were felicitated on this occasion.

Mulky station inspector Ramachandra Nayak and sub inspector Parameshwar were present.

Unidentified body found in Shambhavi river

Mulky: A dead body of an unidentified youth was found in Shambhavi river on the evening of Saturday June 13.

It is suspected that the man might have committed suicide.

Locals who noticed the body informed to the police who later shifted the body to the government hospital. A case has been filed in Mulky police station.

Tipper lorry Rams over Car in Mulky

Mulky: A tipper lorry rammed over a Honda City car in Angaragudde near Kenchanakere in Mulky-Moodabidri national highway in the wee hours of Friday May 22.
The car was plying from Manipal to Kinnigoli. The tipper lorry which was speeding from SKodi collided with the car while negotiating turn in Angaragudde. The incident occurred as the lorry driver tried to overtake another vehicle.

The occupants of the car escaped with minor injuries. Traffic was snarled in the region for sometime. Mulky police arrivd at the spot and cleared the traffic.
