Autonomous coconut plucking machine: invention by NITTE students

Karkala: The final year students of NMAMIT of NITTE College have invented a machine that plucks coconuts from the trees without the help of humans.

Under the guidance of Mech. Eng. Professor Grayenel Demello, students Dahnraj, Karthik, Kiran Kumar, Vishwas Kumar have developed the machine. The machine is made such a way that it adjusts itself to the width of the coconut plant.

Robot arm will pluck the coconuts all by itself without the help of humans. The machine runs on electricity and can be run on batteries too.

They are completely different from the other machine that demands human to operate. The machine weighs 12 kgs and costs 20 thousand rupees. The invention has won ‘Ex Pro Project of the Year’ title in NITTE in the year 2015.

Scholarships for ITI students by NITTE Education Trust

Mulki: The Ramkrishna Poonja ITI (affiliated to NITTE University) students received scholarships for the year 2014-2015. The program was held at ITI hall.

Chief guest of the program, vice chancellor of the University, Dr. S.Ramanada Shetty handed over the amount and said that students must dedicate and learn with conviction to sustain in technical filed and to develop in life.

Principal of the Institution Y.N.Salian preside over the function. Mulki doctor B H Raghav Rao, old student of the institution and officer of SCDCC bank Yogish, Business person M H Arvind Poonja were the chief guests of the program.

The students who excelled in studies and sports were felicitated.

Graduation Day in NITTE Engineering Colllege

Karkala: Nalanda, Takshashila,Vikaram Sheela and Somapur universities of India were famous for education in the globe in ancient time. Today 2 lack graduates hail abroad for higher studies. The quality of education must be increased said vice chancellor of Karnataka Universities Dr.N.R.Shetty.

He was speaking at the 5th year convocation of B.E. and Post graduation MCA and M.Tech in Nitte Mahalinga Adyantaya Memorial University.

He said that teachers should be the motivational source for students. Well educated students are asset to the nation. Discoveries and inventions are stepping stone of success in life. He also asked students not forget humanity while heading towards success.

President of NITTE education trust N Vinay Hegde presented the certificates to students who have won gold and silver medals for excellence in studies. He spoke and said that discipline, dedication and quality education is the priority of today’s world.

Blood donation camp in Railway hospital

Mangaluru: Blood donation camp was held at Mangaluru Central Railway hospital on 08-06-2015. Rastriya Seva Yojana, Nitte University, Raktanidhi Wenlock hospital and railway officers of MCR jointly conducted the camp.

Palghat divisional manger Annand prakash inaugurated the camp by lighting up the lamp and donating blood himself. He asked young lad and ladies to donate blood at least once in life time.

South railway officers Subramanyan, Ejilian and Bhupati Raju were present. Divisional security commander Ramdas, Dr. Shivashankar Murti of railway hospital was present.

Dr.Sharathkumar, wenlock hospital, informed about the importance of blood donation. The month of June is celebrated as blood donation month all over. Nitte university will be holding such camps all through the month to create awareness said Dr.Murali Mohan.

Endowment lecture program in Dr. Nitte Shankar Adyantaya College

Said S.R.Bansal CMD of Corporation Bank at the Endowment Lecture program on 17th at Dr. Nitte Shankar Adyantaya College.he was speaking on “challenges of a leader in contemporary business field”.

He was explaining about the various characteristics of leadership in present day situation in the business field.  He said “Power and humanity must be the quality of a leader. A successful leader must achieve first and later he should speak keeping his achievement as model then his words will sound meaningful”.

He said that though honest give more stress and responsibility in the beginning but it fetches the fruits of success at the end. No one can underestimate a honest person as he is dedicated and hard working.

Dr.M.S.Moodittaya, president of the function said that successful people find excellence in simple things. Principal B.K Veena welcomed the guests.

State level ‘Enigma Fest-2015’

Karkala:  A state level Enigma Fest was held at D. Nitte Shankara Adyantaya First Grade College. The fest was inaugurated by the chief of N.I.T.K. H.S.S.M, Dr. Aloshiyous Henry Sequera.

Inaugurating the fest he said show offs and gimmick won’t get success only inner strive and hunger for achievement will draw success in one’s life. By developing confidence, according to their conscience one must try continuously to get success he spoke.

Logo of Mangaluru half marathon launched

Mangaluru: Half marathon has been organized by DK Athletics Association and Nitte University on February 22 here.

Logo launching and poster releasing ceremony of the half marathon was organised in a private hotel here. Vice Chancellor of Nitte University N. Vinay Hegde released the logo. Speaking on the occasion he said, “Today education institutions are distancing from sports activities. They must conduct programmes which creates interest among the youth about sports”.
