Police disrupt Salman's party for Arpita on her birthday

Mumbai: Salman Khan’s baby sister Arpita Khan rang in her birthday with her loved ones last night. Her Bajrangi Bhaijaan threw her a lavish birthday party at Arpita’s residence and many celebs were invited.

Among others, Sonakshi Sinha, Shraddha Kapoor, Karan Johar, Pulkit Samrat, Nikhil Dwivedi, Elli Avaram, Karisma Kapoor, Riteish Deshmukh , Genelia D’Souza, Imran Khan and Avantika Malik were guests at Arpita Khan’s birthday bash.

Salman Khan, Sohail Khan, Salim Khan, Malaika Arora Khan and Helen posed with Arpita and her hubby Aayush Sharma posed for the paparazzi before the party. But we hear that that police disrupted all the fun late at night.

Apparently, the loud music being played at the birthday bash concerned the neighbours and police arrived at the scene to stop the party from continuing into the night. Loudspeakers blasting off the music at the party made police step into the scene as the latter requested Salman Khan to dial it down. But when some paparazzi present at the scene tried asking the police questions, the former were snubbed. The police who stopped Arpita’s birthday bash refused to answer media questions!

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan on Saturday said he wants his recently-released film Bajrangi Bhaijaan to be made tax-free.

“It has to be tax free. We want government to earn money from this (film), but the government should put that money for the betterment of the society, so that there is progress.

"But if that doesn't happen, then the film has to be made tax-free,” Salman said in an interview in Mumbai on Saturday.

Directed by Kabir Khan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan is about a little Pakistani girl, who loses her way on the Indo-Pak border and finds herself in India.

Salman finds the girl and takes it upon himself to re-unite her with her family in Pakistan.

Salman has urged Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Pakistani counterpart Nawaz Sharif to watch the film for a social cause.

The film star took to twitter saying, “Wld lv n respect if the leaders of Indo-Pak see Bajrangi Bhaijaan bcoz lv for children is above all boundaries @narendramodi #nawazsharif.

Trouble for Salman: Seers demand stay on 'Bajrangi Bhaijan' release

Mumbai: Apparently enraged over what they allege depiction of the Hindu god Hanuman in an “insulting manner” in Salman Khan’s soon to be released film “Bajrangi Bhaijan”, seers have threatened to unleash the “naga sadhus” —trident holding ascetics, known for their violent behaviour if insulted— to prevent the release of the movie.

“The film insults our gods...it must not be allowed to be released...the situation may become serious if it is allowed to be screened,” said a prominent Hindu seer in Allahabad on Wednesday.

The seer said that the “naga sadhus” reside in large numbers at Nashik and they could make life difficult for those who have made the movie.

“If the saints at Nashik tell the naga sadhus about the content of the film, things will be difficult to manage...Nashik is not very far from Mumbai,” the seer went on to add.
Naga sadhus, according to the Hindu mythology, had come into being for protecting the “Sanatan Dharma” (Hinduism).

The All India Akhara Parishad, an apex body of the Hindu saints in the country, said on Wednesday that the parishad would decide on a  strategy if the screening of the film was not stopped.

“We have come to know that some people have moved the court to prevent the film’s release....we will wait for the court verdict and chalk out our strategy in accordance with the decision of the court,” parishad president Mahant Narendra Giri said in Allahabad. A Public Interest Litigation (PIL) has been filed in the Allahabad High Court seeking a ban on the movie. The petition may come up for hearing on Thursday. The petition said that “Bajarangi” was the name of the Hindu god Hanuman, who is also called “Bajrangbali”.

Salman Khan got bail because he is a Muslim: Sadhvi Prachi

New Delhi: BJP MP and Vishwa Hindu Parishad leader Sadhvi Prachi courted controversy once again by alleging that Salman Khan got bail in the infamous 2002 hit-and-run-case because he is a Muslim.

"Had Salman Khan not been a Muslim, justice would have been granted to poor victims," Sadhvi Prachi said. The BJP leader has also demanded release of Sadhvi Pragya, who is in jail for her involvement in the Malegaon blasts.

She has even demanded that Bollywood singer Abhijeet should be arrested for his tweets against street dwellers.

She had even announced rewards for all Hindu women who agree with her and give birth to more than four children.

The Bombay High Court on Friday suspended Salman Khan's sentence and granted him bail. A huge social media debate had erupt after a trial court on Wednesday awarded a five-year jail sentence to Khan.

A man was killed and four others were left wounded after the Bollywood stars Toyota Land Cruiser ran over them while they were asleep on a pavement in suburban Bandra on September 28, 2002.
