She was speaking in the felicitation ceremony organized by the Byndur Kundapur BJP on Sunday June 14 to felicitate the winning candidates of GP elections.

During congress ruling almost all the departments were overflowing with corruption. Now damage control work has been taken up by the BJP in the centre. Our goal is to develop nation within two three years by developing every departments she said.

MLC Kota Srinivas Poojary, district BJP vice president Kiran KOdgi, general secretary Gururaj Gantihole, B. Kishore kumar and many others were present.

Gram Panchayats are the foundation of democracy: Shobha Karandlaje

Kundapur: Village municipalities are the foundations of the democracy. If they are strong and secured, the entire system of the country will be strong said, Chikmagaluru-Udupi MP, Shobha Karndlaje.

She was speaking in the felicitation function of GP election winning candidates on Saturday  at Jayashri hall near Hemmady by Byndoor BJP committee.

She said that village municipal members have some of the rights which MP, MLAs don’t have. The selection of the beneficiaries of housing and toilets can be done only by the village municipalities. BJP supported candidates have won in major village municipalities and Udupi is in no. one she said.

Speaking on the occasion former MP and MLC Kora Srinivas Poojary said, gram panchayat members should think positively and they must keep in mind that they also have been elected by the people just like MPs and MLAs. For effective work the newly appointed members should be given training he said.

Udupi district BJP president Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde presided over the program. Distict BJP general secretaries Gururaj Gantihole, Kuthyar Navin Shetty, state raitha morcha vice president Deepak Kumar Shetty, district municipality members Indira Shetty, Geethanjali Suvarna, Babu Shetty, Nayana Shanubaug and others were present.

Shobha Karandlaje visits to Indira’s house

Kundapura: MP of Udupi Chikmagaluru Loksabha constituency Shobha Karandlaje visited the house of Indira Mogaveera who was brutally murdered after rape attempt and consoled the family.
Speaking to the media persons she said, public have complained that even after so many rape and murder cases taking place in the taluk the police have failed in investigating the cases effectively. She also said that the brutality of Indira murder was more than any other cases since she was pregnant and we will order SP to investigate the case.

She also expressed her anger over not providing electricity connection to some of the houses in the pretext of CRZ and said it is the fundamental right of the people and no one can take it from you.

President of Udupi district BJP Tingale Vikramarjuna Hegde, village municipality member Raveendra Dodmane, district municipality member Geetanjali Suwarna, Kundapur circle inspector P.M Diwakar and others were present.

MLA Shobha Karandlaje visits Gangolli, demands strict action against the culprits

Kundapur: Udupi-Chikmagaluru MLA Shobha Karandlaje visited Gangolli and inspected the shop and the vehicles gutted by miscreants.

There is a conspiracy behind the violence in Gangolli. The chances are there that the Gangolli violence is linked with terrorist activities. Hence State government must curb these kinds of incidents without politicizing the issue. Police must be given complete power to investigate the incident and take action against the culprits she stated.

She was speaking to the media persons in a private hotel. Former Chief Minister BS Yadyurappa is in constant touch with the officers regarding the fire incident. Police are arresting the suspicious persons who are linked with the terrorists from Bhatkal. Hence to divert the concentration of the people these kinds of unlawful incidents being created, she said.
