Notorious thief arrested in Konaje

Mangaluru: Konaje police have netted a person accused in robbing eight shops including a fancy and mobile phone shop near Konaje Mangaluru university and torching a hardware shop. Search is on for other two accused.

The arrested has been identified as Faizal alias Dota Faizal (26) a resident of Ullala. Police is searching for Ismail from Shantibag in Kuthar and Fayaz.

The accused had broke opened eight shops in Konaje and decamped with camera, fancy items, mobile phones and cash. The accused then entered Rifayi hardware shop in Jodukatte. As there was no electricity in the shop the robbers lit a candle which accidentally fell on the tinner can causing fire. Soon the shop was gutted in fire and the robbers also sustained burn injuries. They left all the stolen items behind the shop and fled away.

Police said that the accused were involved in more than 30 cases.

Konaje inspector Raghav Padil, sub inspector Sudhakar and Chandra, Durga, Jagannath, Pradeep were present during the operation.

Bike thief arrested in Mulky

Mulky: Police have arrested a bike thief in Mulky on Thursday June 4.

The arrested has been identified as Sarfaraz. The police have seized the bikes from the accused. A case has been filed in Mulky police station.

Notorious bike thief arrested in Vamanjoor

Kundapur: The police from Kota and Brahmavar in a joint operation arrested a bike thief. The arrested has been identified as Yashwanth alias Yashu (19) a resident of Vamanjoor in Mangaluru.

Person named Umesh Poojary had lodged a complaint in Kota police station stating that his bike which was parked near the bus stand in Giliyaru in Kota has been stolen.

Recently when Kadri police tried to waylaid a bike rider who had changed the number plat, the rider fled from the site abandoning the bike. But on Thursday in a police operation led by Brahmavar circle inspector Arun B. Nayak, Kota PSI Kamalakar Naik and crime branch personnel, Yashwanth was arrested in Pacchanady in Vamanjoor.

Police arrest thief who was absconding for 25 years

Hunsoor: Rural police have finally arrested a notorious thief who was absconding since twenty five years. The arrested thief has been named as Nagaraj (53). The arrest was done under the guidance of Mysuru district SP and DySP.

The accused was the resident of Aichana halli in KR Nagar. He was arrested near railway station in Bidadi, Ramanagar.

The accused was booked under many cases in various police stations. He has been produced before the court.

Notorious house breaker arrested in Badiadka

Badiadka: Police have arrested a thief who robbed valuables and cash from a house in Kanyappady two years ago.

The arrested person has been identified as Mohammed Naushad (22), resident of Rajiv colony in Seethangoli.

The accused had stolen 8 sovereign of gold and cash from the house of Subaida in Mantame, Kanyappady in 2012. Police said that the accused was booked under many theft  cases in Manjeshwar, Kumble and Kasargod police stations.

Thief returns stolen gold worth Rs. 8 lakh by courier

Mysuru: In a rare and most interesting case a thief returned the gold ornaments which he stolen from the house if a professor and had attached a apology letter with it. The ornaments belonged to the Nanjundeswamy a professor in Mysuru which he had bought for conducting his daughter’s marriage. The thief had decamped with 285 gms of gold worth Rs.8 lakhs. The stolen ornaments included Karimani chain, necklace, ring etc.

Nanjundeswamy had filed a complaint in the police station. However, after three days of the incident a courier was received by Swamy. Although the name of the sender was not mentioned on it Nanjundeswamy was shocked to see almost all the gold ornaments which had been stolen from his house in the box. The thief had returned 230gms of gold out 285 gms. A letter attached to it sought apology from the professor and also urged him to withdraw the complaint filed in the police station. The man who had written the letter also promised that the remaining gold will be returned within three months.

Nanjundeswamy breathed sigh of relief as his daughter’s marriage will go on without any hazards since the stolen ornaments have been returned well before the marriage.

Woman made topless for stealing in the shop

London: A China-based woman thief was stripped to the waist in public by a store owner as a punishment for trying to steal clothes, in eastern China's Zhejiang province. The 39-year-old store owner, Mei Hsueh, said that she was simply handing out a punishment by making the 28-year-old Yu Chung topless, which prevented the thief from running away, the Mirror reported.

Hsueh added that this thief was trying to steal her clothes and so she took off some of hers, which will make her think twice before she does that again. Hsueh continued that it was meant to be a warning to all those thieves out there to show them that not all shops are a pushover.

The shop owner first pulled off the Chung's top and then wrenched her bra off her before pushing her into the street and making her beg for mercy. Spokesman Chi Tuan said that Chung has been charged with theft and no action is being taken against the shop owner.

Bike thief arrested: Five bikes seized

Madikeri: Police have arrested a bike thief and seized 5 bikes from him.

Nishant alias Mohan Kumar (21) resident of Cheriya Paramarambu village in Napoklu is the arrested thief. Basavaraju resident of Gowli beedi in Madikeri had filed a complaint in Madikeri police station about his missing scooter which he had parked infront of his house. Police filed a case and started investigation.

Acting on a confirm information police nabbed Nishant and seized one scooter and four bikes.
