Valedictory program of `Yakshotsava’ held at Kurla Buntara Bhavana

Mumbai: 9th annual Mumbai tour of Shri Ramachandra yakshagana mandali ‘Yakshotsava’ held from July 5 to 12. On July 12 senior artists of the yakshagana Ambaprasad Patala and Sadashiv Kulal were honoured at Kurla buntara bhavana. The program was conluded by playing the yakshagana ‘Krishna Krishna ShriKrishna’.

Karnire Vishwanath Shetty president of buntara sangha presided over the valedictory program. He said that Hosanagara mela has given yakshagana a new dimension by presenting the show in a time limit.

Padmanabh S. Payyade, president of bunts judicial committee was present as chief guest. Secretary of buntara sangha Ulthoor Mohandas, executive president of Mathrubhumi credit society Rathnakar Shetty Mundkur, Kamalaksha Saraf, Venkatesh Pai were present.

Raveendranath Bhandary welcommed the guests. Prakash Bhat did the presentational speech. Dayasagar Chowta hosted the program.

Valedictory ceremony of Abbakka festival

Bantwal: Veera Rani Abbakka is not only an ideal to the women but she is the symbol of self esteem of very citizen, said former MP and member legislative assembly Kota Shrinivas Poojary.

He was speaking in the valedictory ceremony of Veera Rani Abbakka festival celebrated in BA college organized by Veera Rani Abbakka committee on Sunday January 25. The patriotism and valour of Rani Abbakka excites everyone, he added.

Stage artist and film actor Winny Fernandese and veteran writer Dr. Indira Hegde were conferred Veera Rani Abbakka award.

 The programme was presided over by member of legislative assembly, Ivan D’Souza. MLA Moidin Bava, President of Beary sahitya academy BA Mohammed Hanif, President of Konkani sahitya academy Roy Castelino, Kannasa sahitya parishat former president Harikrishna Punaroor and many other dignities were present.

 

 

Dinakar Ullal, Executive secretary of welcome committee welcomed the gathering, Treasurer Anand K. Asaigoli thanked. General secretary Bhskar Rai Kukkuvalli and Dhanalaxmi compeered the programme.
