Mangaluru run machine K.L Rahul finds place in test squad against Australia

Mangaluru: Kannau Lokesh Rahul a young lad from Managluru is all set to tour Australia with team India in December. A wicket keeper batsman Rahul is considered as the run machine of T20 matches.
Hailing from Surathkal town in Mangaluru taluk Rahul is the Son of the NITK Engineering College dean Dr KN Lokesh. 22-year-old Rahul was one of the leading run-getters in the 2013-14 domestic season and recently scored of 185 and 130 runs in Duleep Trophy final in New Delhi for South Zone.
2100 runs in first class cricket, 1014 in list A and 511 runs in T20 teell the story of Rahul’s ability as a batsman. Former cricketer Rahul Dravid who is considered as `The great wall of Indian cricket’ backed the selection of Rahul to the test team. Rahul considers Dravid as his inspiration.
A well skilled batsman as well as a good hand behind the wickets Rahul is considered as the future wicket keeper of team India. As Mahendra Singh Dhoni is not available for the first test against Australia due to injury it’s a good opportunity for Rahul to show his skills in test match as well. Team India will play test series against Australia in December-January.
With so many former cricket legends backing Rahul and with so many expectations back in the town Rahul is flying over the sea to meet his dream. Let’s wish a good luck for him.
