His Highness the Amir visits Ministry of Interior

KUWAIT: His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, accompanied by His Highness the Crown Prince Sheikh Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and His Highness the Prime Minister Sheikh Jaber Al-Mubarak Al-Hamad Al-Sabah, visited the Ministry of Interior’s building Wednesday. His Highness was received by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Mohammad Al-Khaled Al-Sabah, Interior Ministry Undersecretary General Sulaiman Fahad Al-Fahad, and a number of assistant undersecretaries at the ministry.

Addressing the ministry’s top officials, HH the Amir congratulated the ministry and its staff on the Holy Month of Ramadan, praying to Allah the almighty to bring back the holy month with Kuwait and its people graced with goodness and blessings. HH also expressed good wishes for Arab and Islamic nations on the blessed occasion. HH the Amir said the security forces have a great role to play to preserve order of the country, calling on forces to stay alert at all times in order to prevent any possible danger and harm from happening, affirming that protecting Kuwait’s security is a mutual responsibility that all citizens must take part in as “every citizen a sentinel.” “In recent years, the increasing possession of unlicensed arms and ammunition in the country have posed a risk on citizens’ lives and encouraged in the commission of crimes.

Therefore, the arms collection bill was formed in order to protect citizens and residents of the country as citizens became very optimistic towards the new law.” His Highness also commended the ministry’s campaign to collect unlicensed weapons and ammunitions in cooperation with state bodies, which attained a distinctive success that contributed in getting citizens acquainted with the bill and its sanctions, praising citizens’ interaction with the new law by handling their weapons and ammunition to security bodies, embodying by that the high patriotic spirit. His Highness also called on the security forces to implement the law strictly against looting, swindling, and violent acts. His Highness the Amir also called on the interior ministry to exert efforts to address traffic congestions, as well as violations of traffic laws that ultimately killed many people, particularly youth.

For his part, General Al-Fahad said police forces were determined to defend the country, and noted the security troops have been mounting the war against crime, cybercrimes, drugs and every illegal act. HH the Amir was also accompanied by Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, Deputy Minister of Amiri Diwan Affairs Sheikh Ali Al-Jarrah Al- Sabah, Director of the Amir’s Office Ahmad Fahad Al-Fahad, Head of Amiri Protocol Sheikh Khaled Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah Al- Nasser Al-Sabah, Chief of His Highness Crown Prince Diwan Sheikh Mubarak Faisal Al-Sabah, Head of Media and Cultural Affairs at the Amiri Diwan Youssef Hamad Al- Roumi and a number of Al-Sabah family members.
