Fire at Masdar ‘brought under control’

Renewable energy giant Masdar has said a fire at its offices on Sunday has been brought under control with no fatalities.A spokesperson for the Abu Dhabi company said that the fire started at “approximately 1.30am” at the temporary Masdar offices on the outskirts of Masdar City.

The cause of the fire is being investigated. The spokesperson said: “Masdar City and its buildings were not affected by the fire, and no one was injured.

“The fire caused damage to Block 1 and 2, a section of Masdar’s temporary offices.

“Abu Dhabi Civil Defence brought the fire under control and is looking into the cause.”
