All companies operating in Dubai will have to use an online system rather than manual applications for residency visas, work permits and visit visas from September 1.

Major General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director-General of the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, said that the move to the e-services system is part of efforts to make procedures easier for customers, National news agency WAM reported.

He said the directorate is calling on all companies and establishments in Dubai to register with the online service within two months as registration is mandatory.

To register, a company representatives can visit the Establishments’ Department at the GDRFA-Dubai headquarters or the external branches of the GDRFA-Dubai at Bin Souqat Centre and Dubai Festival City.

A company’s PRO, owner, partner or authorised signatory must be present in person to register for the online service. The rules are applied for all companies operating in Dubai no matter how many employees there have.

However, the WAM report did not say how how typing procedures that are currently required for residency issuance, renewal, work permits and other applications would be carried out.
