Spicejet flight veers off Hubballi airport runway

Hubballi:As many as 77 passengers, including Karnataka Information Minister Roshan Baig and three High Court judges, had a providential escape when their Spicejet flight SG 1085 from Bengaluru to Hubballi veered off the runway at the Hubballi Airport around 7.30 p.m. on Sunday.
Hubballi was experiencing turbulent weather. The authorities said a tyre got deflated on landing and the aircraft skidded and went nearly 50 metres off the main tarmac. It seemed like the plane had lost control, passengers said. All protocols were followed and a rescue team rushed to evacuate the passengers through the plane’s emergency exit.
