Former bureaucrat J.R Lobo asks govt. to protect upright officers
Bengaluru: Mangaluru South constituency MLA and the only bureaucrat turned politician elected to the state legislative assembly at present, asked the state government to ensure protection of upright government officers, referring to the death of IAS officer DK Ravi.

Raising his voice during the Sessions, Lobo said that the government officers, who fight for justice and stand against corruption, should be fully supported by the government. “There are many sincere, hardworking and efficient bureaucrats like D.K Ravi in the state. It is unfortunate that we lost him. If government backs such upright officers, it will enthuse confidence in them to discharge their duties efficiently”, he said.

“There is a need to protect good officers. They are the backbone of the state administration to ensure good governance. Hence, the state government should openly and fully support such administrators”, he further added.

Lobo also asked all the government officers to take a cue from the style of functioning of late D.K Ravi. “I have heard of him since he was the deputy commissioner of Kolar. The people of Kolar were proud of him and insisted to withdraw his transfer orders. Every bureaucrat should be inspired by him”, he mentioned.
