Twist in D.K.Ravi death case: State set time limit to CBI
Bengaluru: In a new twist to IAS officer D.K. Ravi’s unnatural death case, the State Government has re-issued its notification to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) after withdrawing the three-month time limit it had earlier set for completing the case.

Additional Chief Secretary (Home) S.K. Pattanayak confirmed the new development and said his department had now formally asked for an unconditional investigation by the central agency.

The CBI on Sunday had rejected Karnataka's March 24 notification that stipulated that the investigation and the report should be completed in three months.

The central probe agency wrote back to the Home Department 12 days after the notification to say the State Government does not have the authority to set a timeframe for the investigation. The case being sensitive and complicated it the CBI said its team would need to collect evidences and this may take longer than three months.
