Two minors sexually abused in Bangalore city

Bangalore HINDU : Even as the city is grappling with the sexual assault on a three-year-old girl in a school, two more incidents of rape of minor girls were reported here on Monday.
Three men were arrested by the city police within hours of the cases being reported.
A 14-year-old class 10 student was allegedly repeatedly raped by her neighbour Somashekhar (21), a construction labourer, over the past three months. The incident came to light when she, accompanied by her mother, lodged a complaint with the Banasawadi police on Monday. The police said the mother, who works as a domestic help, caught Somashekhar and the girl in a compromising position in her home on Monday afternoon.
The complainant that Somashekhar had initially drugged her with sedatives and then raped her. He continued to sexually abuse her, and threatened to kill her if she reported the incident.
The police said the victim was subjected to medical examination at Dr. BR Ambedkar Medical College and Hospital where doctors confirmed sexual abuse. The Banasawadi police registered a case of rape under Sections 4 and 6 of the POCSO Act.
17-year-old rapedIn another incident, the city police arrested a youth for allegedly abducting and raping a 17-year-old girl in KG Nagar.
Police sources said the girl went missing four days ago and returned home on Monday. She lodged a complaint with KG Nagar police alleging that her neighbour Madhu had abducted and raped her. The police have also detained Madhu’s friend Basavaraj.
Sources said the girl was in love with Madhu and her parents opposed this. A senior police official said they would question the girl to ascertain whether she had wilfully eloped. But even if she had, the police will file a case of abduction and rape of a minor against Madhu.
