Kasargod: Hosadurg police have solved the mysterious death case of Abhilash (15) a student from Hosadurg higher secondary school and arrested two of his classmates. The arrested students are aged 15 and 17 have confessed to the crime of killing Abhilash by pushing him into the pond. Sources revealed that Abhilash and the 17 year old boy were in love with the same girl. They were indulging in verbal fighting every other day regarding the issue.

On Friday also an argument broke between the duo in the school and later the trio went to home in an auto rickshaw together and got down at Kushalanagar in Hosadurg. Then they walked together towards their houses. They again started arguing about the love matter and the 17 year boy took the divider from his compass and hit on the face of Abhilash. Abhilash started bleeding and  went to wash his bleeding face in the pond. The same boy allegedly pushed Abhilash into the pond. Abhilash managed to come back from the pond in some time. But again the duo reportedly pushed him into the pond and walked away only after making sure that Abhilash was dead. The duo threw the deceased boy's school bag away from the pond, it is learnt.

The parentst of Abhilash searched for their son in vain and then lodged a police complaint. The next day the bag was found and the body of the deceased was later traced in the nearby pond. Prima facie showed that the boy was died due to drowning in the water, hence the police were about to close the file as suicide case. A protest was held by family members and villagers demanding the arrest of the culprits. Later police thoroughly investigated the case during which the heinous crime of teenagers came to light.
