SDPI activist hacked to death: Party calls for district bandh
Kasargod:  District turned tense after a worker of Social Democratic Party of India was hacked to death by some miscreants with sharp weapons. The incident happened on the late night of Monday December 22. The deceased has been identified as Zainul Abid (24) resident of Talangare Kunnil.

The incident when Abid was about to leave his father's shop in Chakkar Bazaar here for home, some unidentified people stormed into the shop and attacked him. As Abid started screaming, some shopkeepers nearby went there running. However, by then the gang had fled from the site.

Abid was rushed to a private hospital in the town. Later he was shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru. But he could not be saved and died on Tuesday morning. A case has been lodged in police station. Police are now searching for the murderers.  SDPI has given call for district bandh on Tuesday December 23 from 6 am to 6 pm in protest against the murder.

Mangalore
