Kochi to be decked up in blue

The One Kochi, One Colour campaign of the Kochi Corporation took off with actor Mammootty painting a compound wall at Fort Kochi.
Sporting a blue shirt to match the occasion, Mr. Mammootty joined the civic administrators and legislators in the campaign for beautifying the city. Later, people started painting the compound walls along the Fort Kochi carnival route in blue paint.
Speaking at a public meeting organised in connection with the launch of the programme, Kochi Mayor Tony Chammany said that the One Kochi, One Colour campaign will be implemented by a people’s committee.
Deputy Mayor B. Bhadra, Dominic Presentation and Hibi Eden MLAs, GCDA chairman N. Venugopal and Babu Joseph, chairman of the committee formed for implementing the programme were among those who spoke.
