Man abandons wife and three children for 70 sovereign gold

Uppala: A man escaped with approximately 70 sovereign of gold abandoning his wife and three children. The incident happened near Hosangadi in Manjeshwar. Although the incident happened two years ago, Maimuna, the victim wife has complaint about the incident on Monday at Manjeshwar police station.

The accused has been identified as Mohammed Rafiq, son of Ahmed Bava, a resident of Ullala. He married Maimuna, daughter of Abdulla, resident of Hosangadi checkpost 17 years ago. The couple has three children. At the time of marriage Maimuna’s father gave 70 sovereign of gold jewelries. Rafiq took all the gold jewelry from Maimuna saying he want to start fish trading in Kochi. It’s already two years since Rafiq had left the house and there is no contact of him till now. This has made Maimuna file a cheating complaint in the police station. Police are now searching for the accused.
