Vayalar Award for K R Meera

Thiruvananthapuram: Arachar, the novel written by journalist and litterateur K R Meera has been selected for the Vayalar Rama Varma Memorial Literary Award for the year 2014. The award comprises a purse of Rs 25,000, a sculpture and a citation.

 Born at Sasthamcottain Kollam district on February 19, 1970, Meera passed MA Communicative English securing first rank.

 Her first short story collection was 'Ormayude Njaramb'. Other noted works include Mohamanja, Netronmilanam, Guillotine, Aa Maratheyum Marannu Njan, Yoodasinte Suvisesham, Meerasadhu, Malakhayude Marukukal and Mazhayil Parakkunna Pakshikal.

 She is also a recipient of Ankanam Award, Lalithambika Antharjanam Award, Chovvara Parameswaran Award, Kerala Sahitya Akademi Award and Odakkuzhal Award
