Kozhikode: A sub-divisional magistrate will inquire into Wednesday’s fire accident at the SM Street in Kozhikode, said Minister for Social Welfare M.K Muneer.

“A sub-divisional magistrate will inquire into the incident. It has been asked to submit the report in a month,” the minister told reporters after an emergency meeting at the Kozhikode collectorate.

Meanwhile, the police, dog squad and finger print experts this morning inspected the Koyenco Bazar in Mittai Theruvu where a fire broke out last night.

KSEB executive engineer K.M Peter told reporters that short circuit has not yet been confirmed as the reason for the incident.

On Wednesday, several shops were gutted in a late night fire break out at SM street in the city.

The fire broke out from a textile shop and spread to the entire area close to Koyanco Bazar.
