Bisu festival and Bunts day celebrated by Buntara Sangha Mumbai
Mumbai: Grand Bisu festival and Bunts day was organized by literature and cultural committee of Buntara Sangha Mumbai on April 14.  After a special pooja at Shri Vishnumurthy temple premise at 9.30am pooja dance begun with Ganapathy stotra.

President of the club, Karnire Vishwanath Shetty inaugurated the function.  President of Buntara Sangha Ballary Suresh Shetty Gurme was present as chief guest, while president of Buntara Sangha Padubidri, Navin was present as honorary guest.

The program was led by executive president of literature and cultural committee Ravindranath Bhandary.  Vice president of Global Bunts association Aikala Harish Shetty, vice president of the association Prabhakar L. Shetty, Honorary general secretary Ulthur Mohandas and many others were present.

The prestigious Kananjur Anand Shetty memorial award given by Shri Mahavishnu Kripa Bunta Yakshakala Vedike through the club was given to Yakshagana artist Bottikere Purushottam Poonja and Shrimati Prema Narayana Rai award was given to yakshagana artist and writer Dayamani Shetty.

In his presidential speech of the conclusion program of the function Karnire Vishwanath Shetty explained about the future plans of the club like bank, Kankana Bhagya for financially backward families of the community and Arogya Bhagya schemes and urged the community members to help whole heartedly towards these projects.  

Businessman Shashikiran and Arati Shashikiran were honoured with late Ramanath S. Payyade memorial ‘Best bunt achievers of the year’ award. Late Shefali Hegde Rai Bunta adventure business woman award was given to Dr. Sharada Subbayya Shetty.
