CBI conducts searches at Aditya Pancholi’s houses

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday conducted searches on the residences of actor Aditya Pancholi and his son Sooraj in connection with the death of actor Jiah Khan in 2013.

The agency claimed to have recovered “articles and documents” during these searches. It is learnt that CBI teams visited three different locations to conduct these searches.

“Two of these premises belong to Sooraj while the third belongs to his father,” said a source.

According to sources, recoveries include letters and Compact Discs in addition to some gifts presented to Sooraj by Jiah. The discs will now be sent for forensic tests. Last year, too, CBI had found some CDs, said to be vital in the case.

The bureau took over the probe and registered a case after Jiah’ s mother approached the Bombay High Court alleging shoddy investigation by Mumbai police

This happened nearly a year after the actor was found hanging from the ceiling at her Juhu residence. Earlier, Mumbai Police, which initially probed the case, filed a charge sheet in a city court this year accusing her friend Sooraj of abetting the suicide, an allegation denied by the Pancholis.
