Mumbai rains: trains rescheduled

Several trains were either cancelled/rescheduled due to the heavy rains and resultant water-logging in Mumbai. Accordingly, train nos. 11041 CST Mumbai-Chennai Express of June 22, no. 12976 Jaipur-Mysore Express of June 24 and no.11401 CST Mumbai-Nagpur Nandigram Express of June 22 were cancelled.

A South Central Railway release said services that were rescheduled were as follows. No. 11014 Coimbatore-LTT Mumbai Express, scheduled to leave at 8.45 a.m. on June 22 had left at 1.30 p.m., while, no.11027 CST Mumbai-Chennai Express that was to depart at 11.45 p.m on Monday would instead leave at 4.30 a.m. on Tuesday.

South Central Railway (SCR) has extended the run of special trains between Kacheguda and Sai Nagar Shirdi to clear the extra rush of passengers. Accordingly, no. 07267 Kacheguda-Sai Nagar Shirdi special will leave at 10.45 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30 and reach its destination at 12.15 p.m. the next day.

On the return, no. 07268 Sai Nagar Shirdi-Kacheguda special will leave at 7.10 p.m. on July 1 and reach its destination at 9.35 a.m. the next day. En route, these specials will stop at Malkajgiri, Kamareddi, Nizamabad, Mudkhed, Nanded, Paurna, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, Nagarsol, Manmad, Kopargaon, Puntamba.

Meanwhile, at a function held in the Zonal Railway Training Institute (ZRTI) here on Monday, SCR General Manager P.K. Srivastava gave away ‘Man of the Month’ awards to 78 employees.

They comprised loco pilots, inspectors, Station Managers, Train Guards, Point Men, Night Patrol Men and personnel of the Railway Protection Force.
