The 9 member commando team reached Karachi where Dawood was hiding and when everything was going as per the plan a phone call stopped commandos from continuing the operation, which could have been a historical one, the news channel revealed.
The operation:
The `Super Boys’ as it was named by agency, 9 commandos reached Karachi. As it was an undercover operation the commandos were sent with fake passports of Sudan, Bangladesh and Nepal. Isreal also pledged its support to this operation, the news channel stated.
The team was aware about the exact place of Dawood’s hideout. He was travelling from his house in Clipton road to Defence housing colony everyday.
The team had planned to murder him on the same road. The spot near a Dargah was marked as the death spot. The 9 commandos were waiting for the arrival of Dawood near Dargah on September 13. But a phone call poured water on the plans of the RAW team. The operation was curbed in the middle and the team returned to India. But there is no clarification about who did that `important’ phone call.
It might be recalled that former Home minister in UPA government Susheel Kumar Shinde had once said that preparations are on to arrest Dawood Ibrahim. As per latest news Dawood has abandoned his hideout in Karachi and moved to Afghanistan border.
