A special Central Bureau of Investigation court in Mumbai discharged BJP president Amit Shah in the fake encounter cases of Shorabuddin and Tulsiram Prajapati.
The CBI has charged Mr. Shah and 37 others in the fake encounter of the two under various sections of the IPC including those for criminal conspiracy, wrongful confinement and destruction of evidence.
The special CBI judge M.B. Gosavi on Tuesday said, "I am of the opinion that the inference that the CBI has drawn is not accepted." The entire record when considered in totality shows there is no case against the applicant Mr.Shah, he added while recording his reasons for discharging the accused under section 227 of the Code of Criminal Procedure ( CrPc).
This means that Mr. Shah won't stand trial in the case.

Sohrabuddin was gunned down in a staged encounter near Gandhi nagar in Gujarat in November , 2005.
His close aide , Prajapati was also killed at Chapri village in Banaskantha district in Gujarat in December 2006 as he was the sole eyewitness to the encounter.
