Desperate youth tries to loot bank with toy pistol

Kundapur: A youth tried to loot a bank by showing a toy pistol. The incident happened in Syndicate bank in Halladi here on Thursday March 12.

The accused has been identified as Ajith Shetty. A B.Com degree holder Ajith was working in a restaurant in Belagavi. On Monday afternoon Ajith entered the bank wearing a helmet. He waited for while sitting on the chair. Later he suddenly entered the manager room and by showing the toy gun in his hand demanded Rs. 50 lakh. The manager with his presence of mind managed to escape from his hand and got hold of the youth. The manager then informed the matter to the police and the youth was arrested.

When police questioned him he said that, my sister’s marriage has been fixed but there is no money to buy jewelry. I tried to loot the bank as desperate attempt to somehow get the needed amount.

A case has been filed in Kota police station.
