Murderer of parents gets life imprisonment

Udupi: The additional district and sessions court here, sentenced life imprisonment for Suresh Marakala for murdering his parents.
The judgment was delivered by judge R.V Patil on Thursday March 12.
Suresh Marakala (29) a resident of Honnekumbri in Heggunje village in Udupi taluk used to harass parents Heriya Marakala (65) and Babi Marakalti (60), for money. He used to fight with them when they refuse to give the money.
On May 2, 2012 he fought with his parents on the same issue. But this time he could not control his anger and at around 3.30 am in the next morning he hit the elderly couple on their head with a wooden stick when they were asleep. He then dumped the body in a thicket.
The then police sub-inspector of Brahmavar station had registered a case and the then police circle inspector, D T Prabhu, had conducted investigation and filed charge sheet in the court.
