'Friends Trophy' Lifted by Jhonson Kundapur

Udupi: In a breathtaking final match Johnson Kundapur team defeated Jayadurga team of Kinnimulky, Udupi and bagged Friends Trophy Katpadi in the 3 days South India level floodlight cricket tournament organized by Friends Katpadi.
The winners Johnson Kundapur won Rs 1.5 lakh cash prize and 6 feet tall attractive trophy.

The runner up Jayadurga team won Rs 75,000 cash prize and attractive trophy. Earlier in the semifinals, Johnson team defeated Malpe Friends in a nail biting match and entered the finals. Jayadurga team defeated Jai Karnataka team from Bangalore and entered finals.

In the tournament there were total 26 teams.The winners were given away the trophies and prizes by Fishing Federation President Yashpal Suvarna. Katpadi Grama Panchayath President Vinaya Ballal, Kote Grama Panchayath President Prashanth Jattanna, Entrepreneur Pramila Prashanth Jattanna, Ashraf K.P.H., Lawyers Union Vice President Ganesh Kumar Mattu, Subhas Ballal, Mahesh Anchan, Deepak Kumar Yermal, Mohammed Nayeem, Friends Katpadi President Asatulla Katpadi, Vice Presidents Ranjan, Imran, Ratnakar Kotian, Yadav, Vaman and others were present.

Riffa CC lifted ‘Thudar Cup-2015’ at Mogaveers Cricket Tourney

Gudaibiya, Bahrain: As part of its Decennial Celebrations, Mogaveers Bahrain has recently organized ‘Thudar Cup - 2015’ 7-A Side Softball Cricket Tournament at the Indian Club ground in Gudaibiya. There were select 12 teams [of NRIs] to fight for the decennial trophy in this day-long limited overs cricket tourney. Earlier, in the morning Association President Leeladhar Baikampady inaugurated the event.

In the final clash, Riffa CC defeated the strong opponent Indian Star and lifted the giant Thudar Cup. Hence, the Indian Star became the Runners Up of the tournament. Meanwhile, Khaja [Indian Star], Sameer [Riffa CC], Dhona [Riffa CC] and Vasanth Salian [Central Café] adjudged as the Best Batsman, Best Bowler, Man of the Match and Man of the Series respectively based on their unparalleled performances.

At the post match presentation ceremony, the prizes were handed over by the Association President Leeladhar Baikampady, Guest Savin Shetty and other dignitaries present. The mementoes also given to Ashok Kateel, Sunil Mangaluru, Munna Mangaluru, Bhaskar Acharya and Prasad Rao in recognition of their sincere support to the event.

Association’s Sports Secretary Puneeth Puthran and others like Suresh Amin, Chandra Mendon, Vasanth Salian, Kiran Bangera, Suresh Salian, Janardhan Thingalaya and Ganapathi Bhatkal have put in their efforts to organize this grand cricket tournament.
