Karkala: with 56 ft. tall manasthambha , acknowledged throughout the nation the Neminatha Basadi of Hiriyangadi has a prestigious history. Prior to mahamastabhishekha ceremony of Bhagavan Bahubali, there is a custom that Neminatha must and should be worshiped. And later he is taken to the hill top in a procession. This is afor’e custom that is still followed.
Built in 14th century, in the reign of 1st Bhairav and manasthambha was built by his grandson in 15th century. Is very beautifully carved and elegant also grabs the attention of pilgrims.
Rajguru Dhyanayogi Swasti Shri’s Pattabhishek commences in this basadi. Mahamastakabhishekha takes place in the guidance of purohit Naga Indra who is from the same basadi. Gurupeetha and basadi holds a very holy relationship since centuries and still holds same.
