Fawn dies due to heart attack

Kundapur: In a rare and tragic incident a fawn died due to heart attack on Thursday evening May 14.
The baby deer had strayed out of the jungle and was wandering in the streets of Balkoor Japthi here when a group of dogs chased it. The scared fawn ran away for life for several miles and as a result tired fawn suffered cardinal arrest and died.
On Thursday afternoon at around 2pm a baby deer was seen being chased by a group of canines in the field of Subba Achari in Balkoor Japthi. A small child named Shravan saw this and informed his father Venkatesh Mudkeri. As Venkatesh rushed to the spot the canine gang fled away from the site but by then the fawn was completely exhausted and lied on the ground breathless.
The local people guarded the body of the baby deer from dogs till 6pm and after forest officials came to the spot the body was handed over to them.
After post mortem the body was buried by forest officials.
Locals said that the menace of stray dogs are increasing day by day in this region and authorities needed to be take notice of this and take proper steps to curb the problem.
