Judicial custody of Naxalite Noor Zulfikar extended
Karkala: Naxalite Noor Zulfikar who was accused in the murder case of Hebri Seetanadi Bhoja Shetty and went absconding later was produced before Karkala court and was sent to judicial custody.

In 2006 naxals made a futile attempt to kill teacher Bhoja Shetty resident of Seetanadi in Hebri. The gun shot had damaged the TV but missed Bhoja Shetty. Shetty somehow managed to escape from the shootout.

To avenge this, in 2008 May 15 during assembly election, in the midst of the tight police security naxals attacked and killed Bhoja Shetty. Noor Zulfikar was the prime suspect of the murder.

He is also an accused in the case of threatening forest guard Harinarayana in the gun point. On December 24 he was produced before the court and was sent to judicial custody. The police have argued that his custody must be extended as they need to interrogate him further.
