Bicycle rider brutally injured in a series of accidents

Kundapur: In a series of accidents a private bus plying from Belthangady to Kundapur rammed into a car moving to Kundapur and knocked down a bicycle rider waiting to cross the road. The bicycle rider was seriously injured in the incident and was admitted to the hospital.  The injured person has been identified as Ashok (42) resident of Kannukere in Tekkatte. He was working in a marble showroom in Beejady.

Eyewitnesses said, as the two private express buses were trying to overtake eachother, one of the bus collided with the Eon car driven by Kundapur purasabha SDA, Satya. The driver lost control over the bus and after jumping over the divider knocked down the bicycle rider who was waiting to cross the road on another side. The bicycle rider sustained injuries on his head and was taken to the hospital. The occupants of the car miraculously escaped from the accident unharmed. The driver of the bus has been named as Ravi.

It’s a divider problem: The road work in Kumbhasi is almost completed in one side. The vehicle goers always get confused about the divider in this region as another side of the road is half complete. Locals blame these dividers for the increase in accidents in this spot. They also insisted police and the related officers to open one way road for vehicles as soon as possible.
