Piece of cake: Jyothi Raj climbs 24 floor Inland Windsors in 15 minutes

Mangaluru: Jyothi Raj famously known as Kothi Ram climbed the 300ft high skyscraper Inland Windsors in Meryhill in a matter of just 15 minutes as hundreds of spectators watched him on the ground keeping their finger crossed.

Kothi Raj climbed the building with a safety rope. With agile moves and smooth execution of skills, he raced up the 24 floors in 15 minutes and hoisted the Karnataka flag. Astonished crowd applauded his success as he climbed the last floor.

He came to Mangaluru with a team of 17 persons which included the Director and the actress of his upcoming debut film `Jyothi Raj alias Kothi Raj’. 
 
  
 
Following his successful attempt, there was a felicitation ceremony held in the building premises. Siraj Ahmed, Chairman and Managing Director of Inland Groups handed over Rs one lakh to Jyothi Raj on the occasion. Speaking on the occasion Jyothi said, "This is the first largest building that  I have climbed successfully because so far I did not get permission to scale high rise buildings. I am very grateful to Siraj Ahmed for his offer. My only aim is to climb the tallest building (Burj Al Khalifa) in Dubai".

He further said, "In Mangalore I do not know anyone but when I reached Nanthur junction and hired a auto, people recognised me and supported me, they honoured me by giving Rs 10,000 which I brought shoes to my students. Mangaloreans are very supportive and I want their support for my movie "Kothi Raj" which will be releasing soon. If people allow me to climb any tall buildings I will come back to Mangalore".

When asked whether it is interesting to climb buildings or mountains, Jyothi Raj said that he loves to climb buildings. While Climbing the buildings we need to keep the same move from bottom to top. He also said that when he had multiple injuries, the media had supported him and lifted his spirit to continue his mission, they had collected Rs 5 lakh for my treatment. He thanked the media for their co-operation.  

Lead Actress of the movie Deepika Das, director of the film Sebastian David, Mehraj, Rohan Monteiro and others were also present.
