Bike rides injured in road mishap

Karkala: Two bike riders severely hurt in a road mishap in Miyyaru Nelligudde. The Injured are Gunapala and Santosh.

Gunapal was on his way to Karkala from Kalatrapade. Santosh was in the pillion. When they reached Nelligudde bridge a tipper lorry coming from the opposite direction collided with the bike.

The lorry driver fled away from the site without stopping the vehicle. A case has been filed in city police station.

Private bus Knocks down bike: woman dies

Moodabidre: A woman died as a speeding private bus knocked down the bike on which she was travelling. The incident happened in front of the petrol pump near Tahashildar office on Saturday afternoon December 27. The deceased woman has been identified as Kusuma (36) wife of Shrikanth, resident of Kanakabettu in Mijar.

She was moving on a bike rode by her husband Shrikanth (42) from Mijar to Moodabire . The private bus named `Reshma’ which was speeding from Mangaluru to Moodabidre knocked down the bike near petrol pump in front of tahashildar office. Kusuma was thrown on the road and sustained injuries on her head. Shrikanth also sustained injuries. The injured were admitted to private hospital in Mangaluru. But Kusuma succumbed to her injuries in the hospital. Shrikanth owns printing press, Ananta printers in Ganjimutt.

It is learnt that the same bus almost collided with a car in its previous trip. A case has been filed in Moodabidre police station.

Bike-Tempo collision: Biker looses life

Puttur: In a gruesome collision between a bike and a line sale tempo a youth lost his life. The deceased has been identified as Rajesh (26) son of Shesappa Acharya , resident of Shedikaje near Sullia. The incident took place near Santyar school in Sampya jurisdiction on Monday December 8.

Rajesh who was working as a technician in a company in Bengaluru had come to attend a wedding  function of his relative. While he was on his way home after the function a line sale tempo rammed into his bike near Santyar school. Rajesh was rushed to a hospital in  Mangaluru but breathed his last on the way.

Teenager dies in bus-bike head on collision

Sullia: A teenager lost his life in a head on collision between bike and bus in Sonangeri here in the early morning of Thursday December 4.

The deceased has been identified as Tajuddin (18) son of Abdulla resident of Sonangeri. Tajuddin was riding on his Passion bike when a bus belonged to Jnanaganga educational institution collided with his bike. Tajuddin was thrown on the road and died on the spot.
 
Due to the impact of the accident bus veered into drainage and stopped after hitting a compound wall. The school children present in the bus were also sustained minor injuries. Sullia police visited the spot shifted the body to the hospital. A case has been filed in Sullia police station.

Robbers ride away bike parked in the shed

Karkala: Robbers lifted a Yamaha bike with registered number KA19 EA 1723 parked in the shed of a house in Eedu village.

The theft might have happened between November 27 night to next day morning 6am. The cost of the bike is estimated at Rs. 40,000 said Ashok in his complained filed in rural police station.

Man dies on the spot in Lalbagh in Bike- bus mishap

Mangaluru: Man died on the spot in a gruesome accident between a bike and bus on Saturday November 29 in Lalbagh here.

The Rajashree bus was playing from Kinnigoli to State bank collided on the bake side of the  pulsar bike as the rider applied sudden break in the middle of the road. Reports suggest that as a pedestrian was crossing the road biker was forced to apply sudden break which lead to his death. The rider was thrown on the road and sustained gruesome injuries on his head and died on the spot.
 
 
 
Kadri traffic police rushed to the spot and a case has been filed.

Count down has begun: Sushant Shetty kick started his bike from London to Bangalore on Saturday

Mangalore: Sushant Shetty, a 29 years old brave, adventurous young man, a native of Mangalore is all set to travel from London to Bangalore by road on his Hayabusa all alone. The distance he has to cover to reach Bangalore from London is 12,000 km and the time limit he had dedicated to finish his journey is 15 days. 

Sushanth has begun his journey on Saturday October 25th morning from Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Park, London. He will reach Bangalore on November 10.

His parents Jayanand Shetty from Bhavantakody House in Manjeshwar- Varkady, and Ira Kenjila Rekha J Shetty are quite confident about their son’s achievements. Sushanth, who pursued higher education in motor sports engineering in England,  serves for UK Ford Company at present. Sushanth had participated in many car and bike races in the past.

Susahnth will traverse through 12 countries including France, Belgium, Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Hungary, Serbia, Bulgaria, Turkey, Iran and Pakistan, before reaching India. He will move through 7 different time zones. He has received the permission from all the countries until his destination. But Pakistan Embassy has still not granted the visa, where Plan B may kick in which involves riding into Bandar Abbas in southern Iran, getting a ferry to Dubai and then finding a 'Dhow' to transport the bike and him across to Mumbai.

During his travel, he will stay in different countries, and has taken help from his friends staying in various countries for this purpose. The distance between London and Indian border will be approximately 9,000 km and later he will have to travel 3,000 km from there to reach Bangalore, said his mother Rekha G shetty.

Sushant Shetty aims at a Guinness World record there are many technical obstacles to achieve it. But that doesn’t deter his intension and enthusiasm towards riding on the bike across many countries.
