Burglary at Kollur Nityanandashram: Rs. three thousand looted

Kundapur: House breakers looted Rs.3,000 from an offering box kept infront of the grave of Vimalananda Shri at Shri Nityanandashram in Kollur. The incident happened on Wednesday late night, October 8.

Burglars made futile attempt to enter into the ashram by breaking the front door. But as the iron rods in the door were strong they were not able to barge into the ashram and fled away with offering box. Robbers have decamped with only currency notes and left behind coins.

Few months back Nityanandashram garnered attention statewide due to controversy over seer Vimalananda Shri’s grave. Miscreants pelted stones at the ashram during nights. Now a burglary in the ashram has made devotees of Vimalananda Shri smell a foul play.

A complaint has been filed at Kollur police station by Jayanand, chief of the ashram.
