Newly wed woman caught while trying to elope with lover

Madikeri: A newly wed woman tried to elope with her lover in Murnadu. Locals who noticed this thrashed the lover and handed to the police. Sudha, resident of Palibetta was married to Eerappa of Murnadu on October 19 and on October 20 marriage reception was held. Very next day of the reception Sudha was seen travelling with Shashikumar in a car. Locals thought Shashikumar was trying to kidnap Sudha and assaulted him after waylaying the car. They then handed over the accused to the police.

During police interrogation it is learnt that, Shashikumar and Sudha were lovers since two years and Sudha with her own consent tried to elope with Shashikumar. Madikeri station police had filed a case and investigation is on.
