Two notorious thieves arrested: Valuables worth Rs. 2,70,000 siezed
Kundapur: Police on Wednesday late night December 11 have arrested two thieves whom used to rob the houses in the broad day light in Kundapur and the surroundings.

The arrested thieves are Santosh (23) resident of Ripponpet in Shivamogga and Uday Achar (32) resident of Koni in Kundapur. They were produced before the court and were sent to judicial custody.

On December 6, the accused have decamped with valuables from the house belongs to B.V Raghavendra in the broad day light as the occupants of the house went to Kodi fair in Koteshwar. The police under the guidance of Kundapur circle inspector Diwakar P.M started the investigation and nabbed the robbers on Wednesday.

The police seized two necklaces, ten ear rings, eight rings, one gold coin, one karimani chain, two chains, two silver laxmi statues and Rs.6000 and Rs. 1000 from the offering box. The total value of the seized items is said to be Rs. 2,70,000 and a Nano car with registered number KA.47-M1922 and two mobile phones.

The accuse dare said to be involved in many robbery cases. Many cases were lodged against Santosh in various stations of Ripponpet. Uday Achar is said to be involved in smuggling of ancient valuable statues. On October 12 the Udupi DCBI police had arrested the gang near Laxmi bar in national highway 66 in Brahmavar-Uppur village which involved in smuggling ancient idols. The police had seized the 700 year old idols from the gang which Uday Achar was a part of. The arrest of two house breakers has relieved the people of the region.
