Tatkal ticket prices to go up in select trains

New Delhi: In a bad news for the passengers, the government is mulling an increase in the fares for tatkal tickets. According to railway sources, the ministry has sent a proposal to Zonal railways to identify 5 most popular trains each.

According to sources, fifty per cent of Tatkal tickets will be priced on the basis of demand. The railway is likely to charge premium prices on trains in which there is a high demand for tickets. All 16 railway zones have been asked to implement the measure within a week.
