Murder threat: One year jail for accused

Madikeri: Court has convicted a man who threatened to kill two persons after assaulting them on a trivial issue.

K.G Ponnappa, resident of Kolekeri village near Napoklu is the convicted man. On November 20, 2011 Ponnappa waylaid K.C Ayyanna of Kolekeri while he was on his way to home in the evening from his plantation and assaulted him. He also thrashed K. Vinitha who intervened in the quarrel and threatened to kill them.

Napoklu police filed a complaint against the accused and submitted a charge sheet to the court. Judge B.T Annapurneshwari in her judgement sentenced one year jail term and Rs. 7 thousand fine.
