Mangala Gangotri rape accusation: Victim decides to withdraw the case

Mangalore: The rape case filed by a woman against the professor of Mangala Gangotri University took an unexpected turn when the woman told that she is withdrawing her complaint. Earlier she had lodged a complaint in Konaje police station alleging the professor of Commerce section had raped her.

The woman had accused that Dr. Vedava had made false promises of marrying her and sexually abused her. She also staged a protest in the University premise accusing that police have not filed a FIR and not arrested the professor. It is learnt that a meeting was held between University Registrar, Vedava and woman and it has been decided to solve the problem after discussing with University Chancellor.
