MCC and kankanady Marketers join hands in cleaning the market area

Mangalore : Mangalore City Corporation (MCC) officials and as well as the Kankanady Market Traders Association members carried out cleanliness drive on the occasion of 'Rastriya Swachata Abhiyan' on Wednesday October 29 at Kankanady Market, Mangalore.Cleaning process began from the buiding areas where the area was filled with lot of weeds.

 MCC environmental engineer Madhu S M, MCC health officer Dr Manjayya Shetty, MCC Commissioner Gokuldas Nayak, Ward Corporator Naveen D'Souza, Kankanady Market Traders Association president Ali Hasan, Kankanady Market Traders Association secretary Roshan Patrao and shop owners joined hands in cleaning the area.

 Speaking to media MCC commissioner Gokuldas Nayak said, "After launching of 'Rastriya Swachata Abhiyan' by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, MCC is joining hands with other organisations in keeping the city clean. REcently our Mayor Mahabala Marla started 'Swatch Bharath Mission' project on October 2, 2014 on Gandhi Jayanthi and from that day tillNovember 25, 2014 we are keeping more and more cleaning programmes. Daily we are cleaning one place in the city."

 "On November 1, 2014 on Rajyotsava, various organisations are coming together and even MCC will join them in cleaning the city. So far 66 programmes we have done along with various organisations. Valencia, Milagres, Morgansgate, Falnir Road, Bejai Road, KSRTC, Rosario Church, Fr Muller hospital and many more palces are to be cleaned." he added
