Man commits suicide by jumping off the bridge

Udupi: A person ended his life by jumping off the bridge near national highway in Malpe in the morning of Tuesday October 28 at around 10am.

The vehicle goers noticed a young man jumping off from the protection wall of the bridge. Locals jumped into the water to rescue the person but they only managed to pull his dead body out of the water.

The whereabouts of the deceased is yet to be known. The reason behind the suicide is also unknown. Malpe police visited the spot and sent the body for post mortem. Due to the incident the traffic was snarled for some time.
