8th standard girl goes missing in Udupi

Udupi: Parents of a school girl lodged a missing complaint of their daughter in the town police station on Wednesday November 19. The missing student is Eshika Shetty daughter of Yashodha and Shekra Shetty of Elinje in Kinnigoli and was a 8th standard student of  Sharada Residential School in Kunjibettu Kadiyali. Eshika was staying in the hostel of the school in Kunjibettu. Her parents were working in Muscat.

According to sources, on November 15, there was a sports meet in the school. Eshika was present at the meet in the morning but in the evening she did not return to the hostel. The school authorities filed a missing complaint in the town police station. But surprisingly the news did not appear on the police blog nor did it reach the media.

The incident came to light when Eshika’s mother called her on phone. As her mobile was switched off, her mother called the hostel staff in the evening. But there was no proper response from them. Worried about her daughter Yashodha came to Udupi only to know that her daughter was missing. Sub Inspector of town police station Madhu reached the school and gathered all the information about Eshika, Now a search is on for Eshika.
